The magnificent blog Blueberry Weddings featured one of the weddings I photographed in Santa Barbara this past summer. You can see a larger selection from this wedding on my wedding photography website. Perhaps you didn’t know this, but I love photographing weddings. It’s the best way I know to make people happy. I photograph them in Santa Barbara, North Carolina, Spain, Laguna Beach, Ojai… I don’t care. And until the end of the year I’m making a $100 donation to a school chosen by the referrer for every successful wedding referral.

Macduff Everton’s Book of Santa Barbara
Yesterday, Macduff Everton came over and gave me The Book of Santa Barbara, a beautiful labor of love featuring some of the people and places that make our home special. Why did I get a copy of this beautiful book? Macduff happened to take my photo when he came to visit the EcoHeroes Project exhibit at Earth Day.
I’m honored to be included in this gorgeous book, alongside other Santa Barbarians of great caliber. I never thought I would make it into a book by another photographer, especially not someone who I have secretly admired over the years.
What I love most about being in the book is that Mary Heebner, author of the captions, wrote: “Isaac Hernandez, playwright, photographer and journalist.” I love to see the title of playwright next to my name, because writing plays is what I enjoy doing most.
I also never thought I’d become a playwright. After my first play, I thought it was arrogant to say I was a playwright. But now that I’m on my way to write my third play, I’m proud of that title.
